IFC Films has provided ComingSoon.net with an exclusive clip from Megan Griffiths’ comedy Lucky Them, which stars Toni Collette as music critic Ellie Kung who has been assigned the job of finding a long lost rock god named Matthew Smith, who just happened to be her boyfriend. Along for the ride is Thomas Haden Church’s Charlie, a former classmate who has decided to take up documentary filmmaking and convinces Ellie to allow him to film her quest to find Smith.
In the clip below, you can get a good idea of how funny Thomas Haden Church is as Charlie in an early scene in a bar where we learn more about him, as does Collette and Nina Arianda, who plays Ellie’s bartending friend in the movie.
Lucky Them premieres on VOD and opens in select cities on Friday, May 30.
