Sony Pictures has released a brand new Escape Room: Tournament of Champions clip for their forthcoming survival horror thriller sequel, which is scheduled to make its debut in theaters on July 16. The Escape Room 2 clip gives us a preview at one of the game’s many deadly challenges which involves a laser grid death trap. The remaining players including Taylor Russell and Logan Miller’s returning characters must solve the Bank-themed challenge, where they must put blood on blank bills before the laser grid activates in full capacity.

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is the sequel to the box office hit psychological thriller that terrified audiences around the world, which earned a worldwide gross of over $155 million against a reported $9 million budget. In this installment, six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive…and discovering they’ve all played the game before.

The sequel stars Taylor Russell (Bones & All), Logan Miller (Love, Simon), Indya Moore (Pose), Holland Roden (Teen Wolf), Thomas Cocquerel (The 100), and Carlito Olivero (Bad Samaritan).

Adam Robitel is once again directing Escape Room: Tournament of Champions from a screenplay written by Will Honley, Oren Uziel, Maria Melnik, and Daniel Tuch, based on a story by Honley, Christine Lavaf, and Fritz Bohm. Executive producers are Robitel, Karina Rahardja, and Philip Waley, with Neal H. Moritz producing.
