Focus Features has released the official Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain trailer for Morgan Neville’s upcoming documentary, centering around the late renowned chef, writer, and adventurer. The film will give viewers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how an anonymous chef became a world-renowned cultural icon. The film is slated to have its world premiere at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, which will then be followed by a theatrical release on July 16. A television premiere is then set for CNN and a streaming debut on HBO Max.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain will center around the uncommon life of the late storyteller, explorer, and chef, Anthony Bourdain, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 61. This unflinching look at Bourdain reverberates with his presence, in his own voice and in the way he indelibly impacted the world around him.
Before his untimely death, the renowned chef gained recognition for hosting a number of popular food and travel shows, including Food Network’s A Cook’s Tour; Travel Channel’s Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and The Layover; and CNN’s Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. He was also known for his best-selling books such as Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, The Nasty Bits, and No Reservations: Around the World on an Empty Stomach.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is directed by Oscar-winner Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor). It was executive produced by CNN Films and HBO Max with Caitrin Rogers and Nevill serving as producers through his Tremolo Productions.
