As a last resort to cure their son’s auto-immune disorder, the Millers move into a sterile manor during his treatments. Eli is tormented by terrifying visions — deemed hallucinations — but something sinister may lurk within these walls.
Eli was co-written by David Chirchirillo (Cheap Thrills), Ian Goldberg (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), and Richard Naing (Fear the Walking Dead). The horror feature was directed by Ciarán Foy (Sinister 2, Citadel). It is produced by Jenny Hinkey, Trevor Macy, and John Zaozirny. David O’Leary serves as co-producer with Melinda Nishioka executive producing.

The movie was originally slated to be released by Paramount Pictures but was picked up by Netflix after the studio dropped the film. The script was first written by Chirchirillo, which made 2015’s Black List of quality scripts that didn’t have development deals. Later, Goldberg and Naing were brought aboard to rewrite Chirchirillo’s initial draft.
Eli will premiere on Netflix on October 18.
