Ladyworld Trailer Reveals First Look At Female-Led Lord Of The Flies Film

Cleopatra Entertainment has released the official trailer (via Collider) to their upcoming Lord of the Flies-inspired film titled Ladyworld which is consist of an all-female cast led by Ariela Barer (Marvel’s Runaways), and Maya Hawke (Stranger Things Season 3). Ladyworld is a modernized all-girl story inspired by Lord of the Flies. It follows eight teenage girls, who are trapped at an endless birthday party in the canyons after a massive apocalyptic event. Cut off from civilization in a ruined & powerless house, the girls should organize but instead exploit each other’s fears, devolving into a dynamic of manipulation & control.

The film also stars Annalise Basso (Captain Fantastic), Ryan Simpkins (Brigsby Bear, The House), Odessa Adlon, Tatsumi Romano, Zoe Casabere, and Atheena Frizzell.

Ladyworld is directed and co-written by Amanda Kramer with Benjamin Shearn. Kramer also serves as a producer along with Love & Death Productions’ Leal Naim and Thomas R. Burke. The film had its world premiere at the 2018 Fantastic Fest.

It is scheduled to hit the theaters on August 2 and is set to be released on VOD/ Home Entertainment DVD on August 27.
