‘Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen’ Movie Review (2004)

Just to make a “confession” of my own, this is not my kind of a movie. I am more of a Confessions of a Dangerous Mind kind of guy, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be fair.

It goes without saying that this is a film for the young ladies of the world and I can tell you right now they will be thrilled, and even the young men will be happy to see the extremely cute Lindsay Lohan strut her stuff on the big screen.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen is the story of a Lola Cep who’s convinced that she is a girl that belongs in New York City, but her world is thrown for a tailspin when her mother moves them to New Jersey.

Now trapped in the suburbs Miss Cep must figure out how to make her dreams come true, but another girl has already staked her claim as the school’s center of attention, which doesn’t settle well with this “drama queen”.

For the first half of this movie I felt that it could have done just as well as a made-for-TV movie, but once it was over I was convinced that the girls of the world would absolutely love this one. The catchy tunes and silly humor will catch young audience’s attention all around.

This movie does do one thing, it proves that a movie aimed at a younger audience doesn’t have to carry a name like Mandy Moore, remember the Chasing Liberty debacle earlier this year? Lindsay Lohan has a much better chance at a future in acting, and after this movie singing as well.

While this may not be my favorite, I can say that it will not have a problem bringing in the audiences this weekend as it is sure to be a young ladies flick of choice. Be sure to let us know your thoughts by clicking here.
