With her latest, Identity Thief, hitting theaters this weekend, Melissa McCarthy and her husband/creative partner Ben Falcone have revealed to The Hollywood Reporter three new films they have in development through their company, On the Day.
Set up at Universal, the pair will write the original comedy Michelle Darnell alongside Steve Mallory. There are no plot details as of yet, but McCarthy is also planning on starring.
Cousin Irv From Mars is also at Universal and is based on the upcoming book by Bruce Eric Kaplan who will also adapt the screenplay. It follows the adventures of a boy and his cousin Irv who, as the title suggest, is from Mars.
Finally, On the Day will produce an adaptation of Douglas Brown’s Just Do It: How One Couple Turned Off the TV and Turned On Their Sex Lives for 101 Days (No Excuses!). Michael Aguilar is also attached to produce.
