Variety reports that the supernatural love story The Way Between has tapped Kyra Sedgwick (Story of a Girl) to direct the feature. Oscar winner Jennifer Lee (Frozen) has penned the script, and casting is to begin soon.
“From the moment I read The Way Between, I was captivated by this deeply romantic and universal story of love, sacrifice, empathy and finding your way,” Sedgwick said of the project.
The movie follows a man who loses his girlfriend in a tragic car crash, only to find a way to reconnect by bending the laws of reality, as one does. However, his unwillingness to let her go eventually causes the line between reality and his dreams a dangerous blur.
This will be the second film Sedgwick has directed. Her debut feature, Story of a Girl, aired on the Lifetime Network in 2017, which earned her a Directors Guild of America nomination that year.
Tucker Tooley, Lee, Rich Freeman, Colleen Camp, Kane Lee, Hector Solis Flores and Roberto Jurado Rebora will serve as producers. The executive producers include Greg Renker, Jason Barhydt and Jose Alberto Lopez. Tooley Entertainment will be financing the film.
