Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Adds Dennis Haysbert

In the wake of the tragic loss of actor Michael Clarke Duncan earlier this year, Robert Rodriguez has recast the role of Manute in his upcoming sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the role will now be played by Dennis Haysbert (“24,” “The Unit”).

Now in production in Austin, the comic book sequel will again be co-directed by Frank Miller and will feature the return of Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Jaime King with Jamie Chung stepping into the Miho role originally played by Devon Aoki.

An official plot synopsis has not yet been revealed, but one of the stories being brought to the screen this time around is the titular “A Dame to Kill For,” based on Miller’s 1993 miniseries.

This isn’t the first time that Haysbert and Duncan have both played the same comic book character. Haysbert provided the voice of Green Lantern Kilowog on the animated “Justice League” series, later brought to the big screen with Duncan voicing.
