Collider reports that the sports drama Fencer has landed Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone), who will produce and co-star in the project. Fencer will tell the story of a hard-charging female athlete faces personal demons and childhood rivals as she vies for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Fencing Team.
Affleck will produce via his banner, Sea Change Media, along with Whitaker Lader and the film’s writer/director, Jasmine McGlade (La La Land).
The actor will also appear in this fall’s The Old Man And The Gun, starring Robert Redford in his final acting role, as well as an upcoming TV movie with Alfonso Cuaron. It was also just announced he’ll be playing Lewis Merriweather in a mini-series Lewis and Clark.
