Golden Globe-nominated actress Emmy Rossum is in negotiations to join Hilary Swank in Alcon Entertainment-based 2S Films’ You’re Not You.
The drama is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed novel of the same name by Michelle Wilgden about a woman suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease played by Swank and the aimless young woman played by Rossum who enters her life as a personal caregiver.
George C. Wolfe (Nights in Rodanthe) is directing from an adaptation by Shana Feste (Country Strong) and Jordan Roberts (Around the Bend).
2S Films’ Swank and Smith are producing with Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan of Di Novi Pictures (The Lucky One, Nights In Rodanthe, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2).
Darryl Prince Productions is financing the project.
Swank and Smiths previous collaborations with Alcon include last year’s Something Borrowed, starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski, as well as the hit romantic comedy P.S. I Love You directed by Richard LaGravenese, starring Swank and Gerard Butler.
Rossum is currently starring in the hit TV series “Shameless” for Showtime and will next be seen in Alcon’s Beautiful Creatures based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Rossum stars alongside Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, among others in the Richard LaGravenese-directed film that is set for a February 13, 2013 release through Alcon’s output deal with Warner Bros.
