Robert Pattinson and Carey Mulligan are set to star opposite one another in Hold On To Me, a true crime thriller from director James Marsh (Man on Wire, Project Nim), Deadline reports.
The film revolves around a woman and her boyfriend who kidnap and bury alive a wealthy man in the hopes of securing a ransom. The project is said to be based on a true story, but it’s currently unclear exactly what case inspired it. There are definite similarities to the kidnapping and burial of Samuel Bronfman in New York. In that case, a multi-million dollar ransom was paid.
Pattinson can next be seen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 while Mulligan will star in next summer’s The Great Gatsby.
Todd Field, Alexandra Milchan, Michael Pruss, Steven Rales and Mark Roybal are attached to produce.
