Originally titled The Children, New Line Cinema has released a motion teaser revealing the title for the upcoming The Curse of La Llorona which you can check out below! Production was announced last October for the film which wrapped in November.
Produced by Conjuring franchise-runner James Wan, the film follows social worker Anna Garcia in 1973 Los Angeles as she begins diving in to one of her cases and finds foul play at the hands of a supernatural force, which she finds has similarities to the force terrorizing her family. She looks for help from a local faith healer when the entity, La Llorona, attaches itself to her and will stop at nothing to take her children.

“A classic ghost story I’ve always loved,” Wan tweeted about the reveal. “Excited to share the next film from Atomic Monster.”
Directed by Michael Chaves (Chase Champion) and written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis in their theatrical debuts, The Curse of La Llorona stars Linda Cardellini (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop: Back in Business) and Raymond Cruz (Better Call Saul).
The Curse of La Llorona is set to hit theaters April 19, 2019.
