The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Oscar winner Julianne Moore (Still Alice, The Hours, Suburbicon) is in talks to join Academy Award nominee Amy Adams (American Hustle, The Fighter, Sharp Objects) in The Woman in the Window, based on the New York Times bestselling novel by A.J. Finn.
The Woman in the Window tells the story of Dr. Anna Fox (Amy Adams), a recluse in New York City who drinks her days away alone in her apartment, watching classic films and her neighbors. When the Russells move into the house across the way, Anna sees the ideal family and spies on them, only to witness a shocking event that changes her life.
Moore is set to play the mother of a mysterious young boy who moves in across the street. Joe Wright (The Darkest Hour) is directing the crime drama from an adapted screenplay by Tracy Letts. The outlet notes that the story is a nod to the Alfred Hitchcock classic Rear Window.
The Fox 2000 adaptation will be produced by Scott Rudin (Lady Bird, No Country for Old Men) and Eli Bush (Lady Bird, Annihilation). The Woman in the Window will arrive in theaters on October 4, 2019.
