Lynne Ramsay has plans to write and direct a sci-fi version of Herman Melville’s literary classic, “Moby Dick.” The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the We Need to Talk About Kevin helmer will re-team with Rory Kinnear, her co-writer on that project, for Mobius.
Mobius turns the Peqoud into an starship with an Ahab-inspired Captain vowing revenge against a space-creature.
Ramsay’s next, Jane Got a Gun, is a western starring Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender.
Scott Pictures will finance Mobius with Ramsay, Scott Steindorff, Peter Fruchtman, Dylan Russell and Scott LaStaiti producing.
