Pearl Studio and DreamWorks Animation‘s co-production Everest has been retitled Abominable. The film will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures in 3D on its previously-announced date Friday, September 27, 2019.
Abominable takes audiences on an epic 3,000-mile journey from the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes. When a mischievous group of friends encounters a young Yeti, they embark upon an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.
Directed by Jill Culton (Open Season) and co-directed by Todd Wilderman (Trolls, The Crood), Abominable is produced by Suzanne Buirgy (Kung Fu Panda 2, Home) and executive produced by Tim Johnson (Over the Hedge, Home, Antz). The movie was written by William Davis and Irena Brignull.
Chloe Bennet (Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast in the lead role of Yi. Bennet’s other credits include Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors and the upcoming comedy musical romance Valley Girl.
