Will We Ever See a Castlevania Movie?

It has been seven years now since it was first announced that the film rights had been acquired for a video game adaptation of Castlevania. Back then, Resident Evil: Retribution helmer Paul W.S. Anderson was attached to write and direct, with much later news coming in that Saw co-creator James Wan had been signed to write a new draft and direct.

Anderson was still expected to be involved as a writer and producer and was just asked why it has taken so long for the project to take off. In the interview below, he talks about the difficulty in making video game movies and how it has to be a fine balance between pleasing the fans of the games and opening it up to a mainstream audience as well.
