Kristen Bell will be starring in the STXfilms musical comedy Fantasy Camp, which follows a failed junior high school drama teacher (Bell) who faces her fears and pursues her dreams while attending a Broadway performing arts camp for adults.
Fantasy Camp was written by Sid Karger (Paper Airplane) and is being produced by Greg Silverman (Edge of Tomorrow, The LEGO Movie Sequel) and Madhouse Entertainment. The studio has a number of other female-led projects coming up, including I Feel Pretty starring Amy Schumer which is hitting theaters this month, as well as Melissa McCarthy’s The Happy Time Murders, and Second Act starring Jennifer Lopez.
Bell can be seen on her television series The Good Place, which recently wrapped its second season and was renewed for a third by NBC. She recently finished production on Teen Titans Go! to the Movies and Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, and will again be lending her voice as Anna in Frozen 2, slated for release in 2019. Bell’s previous projects with STXfilms, the Bad Moms films, were the most profitable movies for the studio, grossing over $185 million at the domestic box office.
