Jacob Tremblay starring in comedy Good Boys for Universal
Variety reports that actor Jacob Tremblay has signed to star in the R-rated comedy Good Boys for Universal. The script has been penned by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. They will also be making their directorial debut with this film.
The story will follow four 12-year-old boys who skip school to embark on a day-long adventure fraught with comedic peril. Good Boys has been described as being a mix of Superbad and Sausage Party, so it will deliver high on the raunch factor.
Tremblay is most known for his role in the award-winning 2015 hit Room, in which he starred opposite of Brie Larson. He was nominated for a SAG award for his work in the film. Tremblay recently starred in Wonder, which has been a surprise financial hit for Lionsgate. He can be seen next in The Predator.
Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are no strangers to comedy. They are both alums of the popular TV Series The Office. They also wrote the comedy Bad Teacher, which starred Cameron Diaz.
Point Grey principals Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver will produce. Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane will executive produce.
