Universal Pictures has set release dates for Little and two more Will Packer comedies
Three Will Packer films have been given release dates by Universal Pictures. Packer is the producer behind films like Think Like a Man, Ride Along and the recent hit comedy Girls Trip, which introduced breakout star Tiffany Haddish. The Will Packer Productions film Little will hit theaters on Friday, September 20, 2019. Little will be up against The Angry Birds Movie 2.
Marsai Martin (TV’s black-ish) stars in and executive produces Universal Pictures’ Little, a comedy from producer Will Packer (Girls Trip, Ride Along and Think Like a Man series) based on an idea the young actress pitched. Directed by Tina Gordon (Peeples), the film tells the story of a woman who—when the pressures of adulthood become too much to bear—gets the chance to relive the carefree life of her younger self.
Packer will produce Little for his Universal-based Will Packer Productions alongside production partner James Lopez and Kenya Barris (Girls Trip, black-ish). Josh Martin and Regina Hall (Girls Trip) also executive produce. Camilla Blackett (TV’s Fresh Off the Boat) is rewriting the current draft, which is based on earlier work from black-ish’s Tracy Oliver and Gordon.
In addition, two as-yet-untitled comedies from Packer are set for Friday, November 15, 2019 and Friday, May 15, 2020. The first will be up against Sonic the Hedgehog and Margie Claus. The second will be up against Scooby-Doo and an Untitled Paramount Animation film.
