Jeremy Renner is interested in headlining the film formerly known as American Bullsh*t, Variety reports. He’d replace the previously-attached Christian Bale with David O. Russell still planning to direct.
Written by Eric Singer and produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, the drama is about a con artist working with the FBI to solve a corruption case that takes him to Atlantic City and Washington D.C.
Renner appeared earlier this year in Marvel’s The Avengers and can be seen next month in The Bourne Legacy.
