Oscar winner Brie Larson (Room, Kong: Skull Island) continues to take her lead role as Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel pretty seriously, having appeared in an instagram photo at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada researching F-15 fighter aircraft. Check out the full post below!
In other Captain Marvel news, Samuel L. Jackson recently spoke to The AV Club about reprising a younger, ’90s-era Nick Fury in the upcoming film.
“We’re going back now, and I meet Captain Marvel in more of an origin story,” said Jackson. “You’ll see Nick Fury with another guy’s face, somebody that’s got two eyes, so that’s a whole big deal. You’ll see. It’s prior to the eye injury, no eye patch.”
Of course, it’s not QUITE as big a deal as Jackson says, as eagle-eyed Marvel fans will remember in Captain America: The Winter Soldier when Robert Redford’s Alexander Pierce showed Steve Rogers a photo of a younger, two-eyed Nick Fury when he was deputy chief for the S.H.I.E.L.D. station in Bogotá, Colombia.

The Captain Marvel cast includes Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, DeWanda Wise and Jude Law. Mississippi Grind‘s Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will direct. Geneva Robertson-Dworet (upcoming Tomb Raider and Gotham City Sirens) wrote the most recent draft of the script. Writers Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) wrote the first draft of the feature. Kevin Feige will produce the film. Marvel Studios’ Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Jonathan Schwartz serve as executive producers alongside Stan Lee.

In the regular Marvel Comics continuity, Carol Danvers made her first appearance in 1968’s Marvel Super-Heroes #13. A Security Chief in the US air force, Danvers would later be transformed into the superhero Ms. Marvel following an explosion involving Kree technology. More recently, Danvers took on the identity of Captain Marvel after being “promoted” to the moniker of the former Kree superhero.
Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.
