Actor Stanley Tucci (Transformers: The Last Knight, The Hunger Games franchise) is joining Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Tom Hollander (The Night Manager) in the cast of the upcoming biopic A Private War, according to Variety. Filming is currently underway in London after completing shooting in Jordan.
A Private War is the story of American journalist Marie Colvin, who covered wars and conflicts for the British paper The Sunday Times from 1985 until her death in 2012. She lost the sight in her left eye in 2001 in Sri Lanka. She died during a rocket attack while covering the siege of Homs in Syria. Colvin won a number of awards for her journalism, including Journalist of the Year in 2000 from the Foreign Press Association, Courage in Journalism from the International Women’s Media Foundation, and Foreign Reporter of the Year from the British Press Awards three times.
The film will be directed by Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land) and will be produced by Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk (Sicario,TheTown) and Kamala Films’ Marissa McMahon. Savvy Media Holdings’ Matthew George (Wind River) as well as Denver & Delilah Films also serving as producers. Executive producers are Erica Lee, Jonathan Fuhrman and Ashley Schlaifer.
Tucci will next be seen in the horror films The Silence with Miranda Otto and Patient Zero with Matt Smith.
