Scoot McNairy re-teams with Halt and Catch Fire creator for new film
The H Collective announced today that Scoot McNairy (12 Years a Slave, Argo) has joined the cast of The Parts You Lose, a dramatic thriller from Christopher Cantwell currently filming in Winnipeg, Canada. McNairy and Cantwell previously worked together on the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire where Cantwell served as co-creator and showrunner.
The Parts You Lose stars Emmy Award winner Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Fargo, 10 Cloverfield Lane) and newcomer Danny Murphy. The H Collective is fully financing the picture and overseeing production. This project falls under The H Collective’s production deal with Academy Award-winning producer Mark Johnson (Rain Man, Breaking Bad, Halt and Catch Fire), who is producing under his Gran Via banner with Tom Williams and Aaron Paul.
Written by Darren Lemke, The Parts You Lose follows the unlikely friendship that unfolds between a young deaf boy, Wesley, and a fugitive criminal who takes refuge in an abandoned barn on the family’s rural North Dakota farm. After forming a deep bond with the man, Wesley must decide where to place his allegiances when the authorities begin to close in on the fugitive. Scoot is playing Ronnie, Wesley’s father.
McNairy currently stars in the Netflix series Godless and recently wrapped filming on The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter, starring Josh Brolin and Danny McBride.
