Zoe Saldana is the latest name to join the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills. Leading man Danny Trejo let the information slip in a recent interview with Moviehole.
“[It’s] is going to be a lot more over-the-top than ‘Machete’,” said Trejo. “Weve got Sofia Vergara, who is a star in her own right, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana. And guess what? I get to kiss all of em.
The film is also said to include roles for Mel Gibson and Amber Heard in a storyline that sees ex-federale Machete (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. government to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile.
Saldana recently finished production on the still-untitled Star Trek sequel and is now shooting Out of the Furnace.
Machete Kills begins production soon in Austin, Texas.
