Mia Wasikowska is set to lead Tracks, and adaptation of Robyn Davidson’s 1980 memoir, Variety reports.
Set to be directed by John Curran (The Painted Veil, Stone), the film will star Wasikowska as Davidson who, in 1977, took on the 1,700 miles mile journey across Australia with her photographer, Rick Smolan, four camels and a dog.
Wasikowska is best known for title roles in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and Cary Fukunaga’s Jane Eyre. She can soon be seen on the big screen in John Hillcoat’s Lawless.
Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (The King’s Speech) will produce with shooting scheduled to begin in Australia this fall (or spring to those living down under).
