DreamWorks may have found a director for their recently announced video game adaptation Need for Speed. Variety is reporting that Act of Valor helmer Scott Waugh is in talks to take on the Electronic Arts property.
John Gatins (Real Steel) has developed a pitch for the franchise with his brother, George Gatins, who will be providing the screenplay.
“Need for Speed” is the most successful racing video game series in the world, and one of the most successful video game franchises of all time. Over 100 million copies of games in the “Need for Speed” series have been sold.
The last game in the franchise, “Need for Speed: The Run”, was released on November 15, 2011 and features the voices of Sean Faris and Christina Hendricks.
