Another one of the films from 2011’s “Black List” of unproduced screenplays is closer to hitting the screen as Variety reports that the Graham Moore-scripted The Imitation Game may have found a director in J. Blakeson.
Based on a true story, the film is officially described as being, “The story of British WWII cryptographer Alan Turing, who cracked the German Enigma code and later poisoned himself after being criminally prosecuted for being a homosexual.”
When Warner Bros. purchased the spec script some months ago, it was thought that Leonardo DiCaprio could sign on to play Turing. At the moment, there’s still no confirmation if the actor is going to be able to fit it into his schedule.
Blakeson most recently directed the 2009 crime thriller, The Disappearance of Alice Creed.
