Amy Poehler is set to join her “Parks and Recreation” co-star Adam Scott on the big screen. Deadline has word that she has signed for the indie comedy A.C.O.D..
An acronym for “Adult Children of Divorce,” A.C.O.D. will feature Adam Scott as a grown man still dealing with the ramifications of his parents’ divorce and who must do what he can to bring the family together when his younger brother decides to get married. The cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Catherine O’Hara, Jane Lynch, Richard Jenkins and Clark Duke.
Poehler, who in addition to starring on “Parks and Recreation” recently provided a voice for Walt Disney Pictures’ The Secret World of Arrietty, will play a new wife to Jenkins’ character who is also at odds with his first wife, played by O’Hara.
A.C.O.D. will go into production soon and will be directed by Stuart Zicherman, who also provided the screenplay with Ben Karlin. Zicherman will make his directorial debut, though he’s already established as a writer, drafting episodes of “Lights Out” and “Six Degrees” as well as the 2005 Marvel comic book adaptation Elektra.
