Rob Corddry in Talks for Michael Bay’s Pain and Gain

Variety reports that Rob Corddry (“Children’s Hostpital”) is joining Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Ed Harris in the Michael Bay-directed Pain and Gain.

Based on a true story, Pain and Gain follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida.

The trade says that “Corddry will play John Mese, a former competitive bodybuilder who now owns the gym where Wahlberg’s character works as a personal trainer. His past as an accountant and notary makes him a valuable though unwilling member of Wahlberg’s scheme.”

Bay is producing with Donald De Line and Ian Bryce. Captain America: The First Avengers screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the script.
