From just outside Atlanta, Georgia, directors Anthony and Joe Russo have come bearing big news about the Marvel Cinematic Universe with just two words: “One down.” The pair revealed on Facebook this morning that production has officially wrapped on Avengers: Infinity War, which means production on the untitled Avengers 4 will begin within the coming weeks.

Marvel Studios is already teasing the upcoming film on the floor of D23 where a maquette of the mad titan himself, Thanos can be seen. Disney’s live-action feature film panel is set to kick off tomorrow at 10:30 AM PT and will include the live-action Walt Disney Studios films, plus Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios. Even if your Infinity War itch isn’t scratched at that panel, Marvel Studios is set to take over San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H for 90 minutes on Saturday, July 22 starting 5:30 PM PT.
Confirmed cast members for the film so far include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scalett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olson, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Sean Gunn, Tom Holland, Josh Brolin, and Paul Rudd.
Filming officially started on Monday, January 23, 2017 for the Avengers sequel, which sees Earth’s Mightiest Heroes teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Brolin’s Thanos.
Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who return after Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, are directing both Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth film, which will be filmed back-to-back in Atlanta and are written by screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Both films will also be shot entirely with IMAX cameras.
