Selma Blair has been cast in the upcoming Heathers reboot series
Selma Blair (Anger Management) has been cast in a recurring role in the Heathers reboot series for the Paramount Network, according to Deadline. The series is based on the 1988 film starring Winona Ryder (Star Trek), Christian Slater (Interview with the Vampire) and Shannen Doherty (Charmed). The Heathers reboot series is set for 2018. Blair posted a pic on Instagram with the caption, “Do I look like step Mother Theresa? @heathers#paramountnetwork2018” which you can see below.
Blair will reportedly play Jade in the Heathers reboot series, “a stripper, menthol smoker, who is rough around the edges, but with a bit of glamour to her. She’s the gold-digging stepmother to Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell), who is simply biding her time until her 82-year-old husband kicks the bucket.”
The network has stated, “Based on the 1988 cult classic film of the same name, Heathers is an hour-long pitch-black comedy anthology set in the present day, as heroine Veronica Sawyer (Grace Victoria Cox, “Under the Dome”) deals with a very different but equally vicious group of ‘Heathers.’ Also starring are James Scully as JD, Melanie Field (Wicked National Tour) as Heather Chandler, Brendan Scannell (Funny or Die) as Heather Duke, and Jasmine Mathews as Heather McNamara. Original Heathers cast member Shannen Doherty will guest star as a pivotal, unnamed character as well.”
Blair is known for her work in Legally Blonde and The Sweetest Thing, as well as playing Liz Sherman in Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. She recently appeared in the sitcom Anger Management with Charlie Sheen and played Kris Jenner in American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.
