Having already won three Golden Globes and receiving 10 Oscar nominations, Michel Hazanavicius’ The Artist has become one of the favorites of the awards season. Today, AlloCine shared with us this fun look behind the scenes of the filming of the black and white, silent film, starring Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo, Malcolm McDowell, John Goodman, Missi Pyle, James Cromwell and Penelope Ann Miller.
The movie is set in 1927 Hollywood, where George Valentin (Dujardin) is a silent movie superstar. The advent of the talkies will sound the death knell for his career and see him fall into oblivion. For young extra Peppy Miller (Bejo), it seems the sky’s the limit – major movie stardom awaits. The Artist tells the story of their interlinked destinies.
