Launched last fall, the Men in Black 3 viral website, themeninblacksuitsarereal.com appears to be picking up steam as we get closer to the film’s release.
Designed as a mock conspiracy theory blog, the site is run by “BugEyes126,” a 14-year-old kid who posts information that he believes to be relevant in tracking down proof of extraterrestial life. Today, he posted the below sketch of a particle accelerator with the following note:
I was doodling in science class yesterday, this image that I just couldn’t get out of my head. Wasn’t sure if it was something I’ve seen before or maybe just from a dream I had. My lab partner saw it in my notebook and said it kind of looked like some large particle accelerator?
So I looked it up, and these colliders can cost over 6 billion dollars! Yeah, billions spent to build this just to see what would happen. Not sure I buy it.
Using it to secretly transport aliens to and from distant plants seems more likely Not that I think the Men In Black Suits have anything to do with this. They wouldn’t use this for interplanetary transport of ETs. It’s just a giant school science project! Right?
In real life, the most famous particle accelerator is the Large Hadron Collider, housed in Switzerland, which certainly looks a good deal like the one in the sketch. Whether or not there’s a specific connection to the film’s plot, however, remains to be seen.
Men in Black 3 hits theaters in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on May 25th.
