Michael Beach will play a hijacker named Jesse Kane in James Wan’s Aquaman
Michael Beach has joined the cast of James Wan‘s Aquaman as a character named Jesse Kane. Per Variety, Kane is “high-seas hijacker” who comes face to face with the DC Comics hero. Beach’s casting reteams him with leading man Jason Momoa. The pair previously starred together on Stargate: Atlantis. That’s not even the depth of Beach’s deep sea experience, either. One of his earliest roles was in James Cameron’s 1989 sci-fi thriller The Abyss.

An icon for over 75 years, Aquaman is known by fans of DC Comics as the ruler of Atlantis who is also committed to protecting the entire globe, both land and sea. Shooting is currently underway on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia, with extensive filming to be accomplished at Village Roadshow Studios. Filming will also take place in Newfoundland, Sicily and Tunisia.
The Aquaman cast also includes Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Ludi Lin as Murk, Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master and Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
Directed by Wan from a script by Will Beall, Geoff Johns and Wan, the film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
Aquaman will hit theaters December 21, 2018. Audiences will get to meet the character again quite a bit sooner than that, however, as Aquaman is a key member of the Justice League. Look for the superhero ensemble to hit the big screen November 17.
