Following Saturday’s announcement that suggested Chris Evans is close to signing on to play the lead in Bong Joon-ho’s Snow Piercer comes word, via Variety, that Jamie Bell and Tilda Swinton are eyeing roles as well.
The plot is said to revolve around a train of travelers journeying through a harsh frozen world.
Joon-ho is best known for films like The Host and, more recently, Mother. He wrote Snow Piercer and it will be produced by Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance).
Bell most recently appeared as the titular Herge character in the recent 3D motion-capture release, The Adventures of Tintin. He’ll be back on the screen in next week’s Man on a Ledge. Swinton, meanwhile, is receiving much award buzz for her turn in Lynne Ramsay’s We Need to Talk About Kevin. No stranger to fantastical worlds of ice, she also played the White Witch in all three entries in The Chronicles of Narnia franchise.
