Warner Bros. is preparing to enter a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, an area which we call the Twilight Zone. Variety reports that the studio has tapped Christine Lavaf to write the script for a new Twilight Zone movie.

Lavaf has sold a number of original spec pilots this year and also worked in the writer’s room for Legendary’s MonsterVerse. Leonardo DiCaprio’s company, Appian Way, is still producing for Warner Bros. The film will not be an anthology — like the 1983 feature — but will instead be a single story with various elements from The Twilight Zone series.
A number of writers and directors have been attached to a feature reboot of The Twilight Zone over the years, including Rand Ravich, Jason Rothenberg, Anthony Peckham, Joby Harold, and Ari Eli Coleite, all of whom penned the script over the past eight years. In addition, several filmmakers have been attached, including Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes, The Batman) and Joseph Kosinski (Tron Legacy, Oblivion).
Created and hosted by Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone originally ran for 156 episodes over the course of five seasons mixing sci-fi and horror elements with timeless cautionary tales. The series has been revived twice, in both 1984 and 2002. The first feature film included sequences from the original series remade by directors including John Landis, Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante, and George Miller.
