Steven Spielberg previously told us that Jurassic Park 4 is on his upcoming schedule, making us believe that he would return to the director’s chair. But that’s not the case.
He told Collider that he wasn’t ready to talk about the fourth installment yet, “but I can tell you that Im not directing it. Im producing it though.
Spielberg added that he will likely start directing Robopocalypse in September and that Peter Jackson will be directing the motion capture for the sequel to The Adventures of Tintin still this year.
Im not going to say which stories have been chosen for Peter Jacksons sequel because Peter and I agreed that we werent going to let that information out yet,” he said. “The script is now being written. Its more than one book, but its not three books, so that means its two books. Its two and a half books that were combining with ‘The Secret of the Unicorn.’ And Peter will start working on the film this year. When hes done shooting ‘The Hobbit,’ hell begin his performance capture work with the actors later in 2012, which Im very excited about. And of course, Im hoping Ill be able to direct the third one. Id love to do the third one because I had so much fun on the first one.
Spielberg’s next directorial project, Lincoln, will hit theaters later this year.
