It was nearly a year ago that star Kiefer Sutherland confirmed plans to bring the television series 24 to the big screen. Today, TV Line has an update from Sutherland that includes a tentative start date and some plot details.
Planning to shoot in late April or early May, the 24 film will continue directly from the series’ finale, jumping forward in time by about six months. Like the show, the film will be set over a 24 hour period but (of course) will not actually play out in real time.
Written by Mark Bomback and Billy Ray, 24 does not yet have an announced director and no one outside of Sutherland has been confirmed to be returning. Expect that to change in the very near future and check back for details as soon as they become available.
