While the last Batman film, The Dark Knight, was famous for its involved viral marketing campaign, The Dark Knight Rises has, until now, kept relatively quiet. That changes today with the below “CIA Bulletin” posted by Wired that features information on a “Dr. Leonid Pavel” and the image of actor Alon Abutbul. How it applies to the story of the film remains to be seen, but it is likely just a first step in a much larger campaign.
Set for release on July 20, 2012, the Christopher Nolan sequel stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata and Nestor Carbonell. You can catch the six-minute prologue next week at one of these IMAX theaters.
