On April 6, James Cameron’s Titanic will be re-released in 3D and IMAX 3D theaters and we now have a featurette in which the filmmaker talks about what went into converting the movie to 3D and what the film may mean to moviegoers who saw it in 1997 and those who are seeing it on the big screen for the first time.
In the film, which is the second-highest grossing movie of all time and received 11 Academy Awards, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet light up the screen as Jack and Rose, the young lovers who find one another on the maiden voyage of the “unsinkable” R.M.S. Titanic. But when the doomed luxury liner collides with an iceberg in the frigid North Atlantic their passionate love affair becomes a thrilling race for survival.
