In a massive casting report that just went up on The Hollywood Reporter, they mention that actor Russell Crowe is “loosely attached” to play the villain in screenwriter and producer Akiva Goldsman’s directorial debut Winter’s Tale, based on Mark Helprin’s 1983 novel, which is set up at Warner Bros.
The story also mentions that the likes of Tom Hiddleston (Thor), Benjamin Walker (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Bella Heathcote (In Time), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and others have been doing reads for Goldsman in hopes to get one of the two other key roles.
THR‘s scoopmeister Borys Kit also provides a few hints on who may be reading to be cast in Roland Emmerich’s Singularity, David Dobkin’s Arthur & Lancelot and as Bruce Willis’ son in A Good Day to Die Hard, though at this point, it’s all rumor and conjecture based around the normally complex casting process that every movie goes through. Even so, you can read what he says here.
