Dolph Lundgren to join Jason Momoa in Warner Bros. Aquaman
Another cast member has been added to Aquaman, according to THR. Dolph Lundgren will join the cast of the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film. Aquaman is set to feature the return of Jason Momoa in the title role, after having made a brief debut as the title character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He’s expected to play a much larger role in the forthcoming Justice League, set to hit theaters November 17, 2017. The Zack Snyder film will also introduce Heard as Mera, Queen of Atlantis.

Dolph Lundgren will play “King Nereus of the aquatic kingdom of Xebel, who claims Mera as his own and wants to kill Aquaman.” Nereus’ first appearance in the DC Comics universe was in Aquaman #19 (April, 2013) by Geoff Johns and Paul Pelletier.
Additional cast members include Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother, Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s father, Patrick Wilson as Aquaman’s brother, Orm (aka Ocean Master), with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta and Willem Dafoe as Vulko.
Lundgren is known for his work in films like Rocky IV, Masters of the Universe, The Punisher and The Expendables franchise. In addition to his acting, Lundgren has a degree in chemistry from Washington State University, a degree in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney.
Aquaman is expected to begin shooting in April with director James Wan at the helm, for release on December 21, 2018. What do you guys think of the casting of Dolph Lundgren?
