With Transformers: Dark of the Moon reaching the fourth spot on the all-time worldwide box office list with $1.119 billion earned, a fourth movie was to be expected.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Hasbro President and CEO Brian Goldner, speaking in the company’s third-quarter earnings conference call, said that the company is in “active discussions” with Paramount Pictures, director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg about a potential fourth “Transformers” movie. Goldner said he hopes to have news to share in the next quarter.
He also said that Hasbro continues to develop other projects based on its brands. “We continue to actively develop a number of additional Hasbro films with great partners and writers, including Micronauts, Ouija, Candyland, Risk, Stretch Armstrong, Clue and Monopoly,” he said.
Goldner added that the company will continue to work with studio partners and won’t start making its own films like Marvel has done.
