Foresight Unlimited announced today that Grant Gustin (The Flash) will star in Emmy Award-winning writer/director Todd Robinson’s The Last Full Measure. Principal photography begins this weekend on the upcoming political drama in Atlanta and Costa Rica.
Gustin will play actual Medal of Honor recipient William Pitsenbarger, a special forces Pararescue Jumper whose mandate is to save lives rather than take them. He joins a cast led by Sebastian Stan (Captain America films), Academy Award winner Christopher Plummer (Beginners), Academy Award winner William Hurt (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Kong: Skull Island), Golden Globe nominee Bradley Whitford (The West Wing), Golden Globe nominee Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), and Golden Globe nominee Linus Roache (Batman Begins).
Based on the true story of a present-day cover-up investigation, The Last Full Measure follows young Pentagon investigator Scott Huffman (Stan) as he battles the political machine in Washington. He reluctantly teams with veterans of Operation Abilene to convince Congress to award the Medal of Honor to a courageous Air Force medic, Pitsenbarger (Gustin), who is seen saving the lives of over 60 Marines ambushed in one of the bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War. As the battle waged on, and after the last helicopter left, he continued to save lives until his own was sacrificed.
Timothy Scott Bogart, Mark Damon, Lauren Selig, Julian Adams, Pen Densham, John Watson, Nicholas Cafritz, Robert Reed Peterson, and Shaun Sanghani are producing, with Tamara Birkemoe, Jenna Sanz-Agero, Sidney Sherman, Louis Steyn and T.J. Steyn executive producing. Foresight Unlimited is handling international sales and producing in association with Provocator and SSS Entertainment.
Gustin made his on-screen debut on the popular TV series Glee and is widely known for his breakout role as Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash, now shooting its third season. He will next be seen in Krystal directed by William H. Macy, who also stars alongside Gustin, Rosario Dawson, Felicity Huffman, Nick Robinson, and Kathy Bates.
