The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Launches New Viral Site

For a few weeks, Mouth-Taped-Shut.com has been posting viral images related to the upcoming The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Most of them have been behind-the-scenes photos, but the latest seems to add a new twist.

Seemingly a simple photo of Trent Reznor working on the film’s score, /Film noticed that zooming in significantly on the below image reveals a new URL: ComesForthInTheThaw.com, displaying the Swedish proverb, “What is hidden in snow, comes forth in the thaw”.

At the moment, clicking on the words reveals an image with a continually thawing foreground and snippets of dialogue and score playing over it. It’s uncertain what the site may eventually reveal, but check back for updates as they become available.

The film, starring Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgård, Steven Berkoff, Robin Wright, Yorick van Wageningen and Joely Richardson, opens in theaters on December 21 and is the first film in the studio’s three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster “The Millennium Trilogy.” The movie is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon.
