CBS Films announced today the studio is in negotiations to co-finance and distribute Seven Psychopaths in the US. The film is an action comedy written and directed by Oscar-winner Martin McDonagh (In Bruges).
Graham Broadbent (In Bruges, Millions) and Peter Czernin (In Bruges) are attached to produce with Tessa Ross (Submarine, 127 Hours) set to serve as executive producer. The film reunites McDonagh with In Bruges lead Colin Farrell, who has signed on to star in the film alongside Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2) and Oscar-winner Christopher Walken.
In the film, Marty (Farrell) a screenwriter struggling for inspiration for his script, ‘Seven Psychopaths,’ gets unwittingly drawn into the dangerous dog kidnapping schemes of his oddball friends Billy (Rockwell) and Hans (Walken). And once the beloved Shih Tzu of the psychopathic gangster Charlie goes missing, Marty finds he’s going to get all the inspiration he needs, as long as he can live to tell the tale…
EVP of Acquisitions Scott Shooman will oversee the project for CBS Films. The film is set to being shooting in Los Angeles this fall.
