From writer and director Will Eubank (The Signal), Underwater centers on a team of researchers who, after an earthquake devastates their underwater station, have to navigate through two miles in the dangerous depths of the ocean floor to make it to safety. Stewart is playing the lead, a jaded member of the research crew. Neither Henwick nor Miller’s characters have been revealed, but they are likely playing fellow researchers.
Jessica Henwick, known to many for her role as Nymeria Sand on HBO‘s Game of Thrones, makes her debut as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Colleen Wing when the first season of Netflix‘s Marvel’s Iron Fist premieres on the streaming service March 17. She’ll also be back for the Netflix team-up series, The Defenders. T.J. Miller, meanwhile, is also known for his work with HBO and Marvel. He headlines the Mike Judge comedy series Silicon Valley and, while he’s not in the MCU proper, Miller plays Deadpool‘s Weasel in 20th Century Fox’s corner of the mighty Marvel multiverse.
A Chernin Entertainment film, the Underwater movie script hails from Brian Duffield (Insurgent, Jane Got a Gun). Production is planned to begin later this month in New Orleans, so check back for updates as they become available.
