Alvin and the Chipmunks and Hop director Tim Hill looks like he’s lining up a busy schedule. Just yesterday it was announced that Hill would tackle the reboot of the Short Circuit franchise and, today, The Hollywood Reporter has word that he’s been approached about helming Walter the Farting Dog.
Based on a best-selling series of books by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray about a fat dog with severe flatulence, the film adaptation was first announced nearly three years ago when the property was at 20th Century Fox. There, it was being planned for the Farrelly Brothers to direct and the Jonas Brothers to star. With a script by Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, the property is now in development at Paramount and is likely open to be recast.
