Zoe Saldana joins My Little Pony movie cast
Hasbro and Lionsgate have announced that Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Trek) has joined the My Little Pony movie cast. She joins the previously announced Kristin Chenoweth, Emily Blunt, Taye Diggs, Liev Schreiber, Sia, Uzo Aduba, and Michael Peña, as well as the voice actors behind the “Mane 6” from Discovery Family’s massively popular My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series – Andrea Libman, Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain and Cathy Weseluck.
The My Little Pony: The Movie logo has also been revealed and marks the first time the movie versions of the “Mane 6” from Friendship is Magic have been seen.
My Little Pony: The Movie is being scripted by Rita Hsiao (Toy Story 2, Mulan) and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic writer Meghan McCarthy and directed by Jayson Thiessen. The film will be produced by Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis and Josh Feldman, for Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures. My Little Pony: The Movie is scheduled to land in theaters globally on October 6, 2017.
